In this workshop, CTW teaching artists will introduce participants to innovative techniques for incorporating Chinese shadow theatre into Chinese language learning. We will examine the world history of shadow theater through playing with puppets from around the globe and learn techniques for designing, building, and operating shadow puppets. Participants will be led, step-by-step, through creating their own puppets– all the while exploring applications of this traditional art form within their language classrooms.
